This literature review aims to investigate, expose and explain August Strindberg's religious position in his partly autobiographical work Inferno, published in Swedish in 1897, in relation to Peter Berger's socialization theory. Strindberg says in the beginning of Inferno that he goes from being an atheist, occultist and Swedenborgian to finally return to his ancestral religion, Christianity. This is questionable, as Strindberg seems to be religious in its atheistic era, and occultist during his Christian period. Strindberg's own religious views seem not always match what he portrays, compared to what he writes in his correspondence and diary entries. This literature review aims to highlight the influences of Strindberg affected to clarify his religiosity which is implicitly and explicitly depicted in Inferno.

  The purpose of this paper is to exam the philosophical development of Emanuel Swedenborg's doctrine of correspondence and to note some of the more important parallels between Swedenborg's doctrine and the three contemporary most debated theories concerning the mind-body problem. These three theories was pre-established harmony, its opponent physical influx and finally occasionalism. Especially occasionalism has close connections to Descartes' dualism, but neither pre-established harmony or physical influxus, which in some ways can be dated before Descartes, would have looked the same, if it were not for the Cartesian way of thinking. Also Swedenborg initially inherited major influences from Descartes and that is the first approach in this paper. From there on the paper follows the development of the doctrine of correspondence and the parallels according Swedenborg's more contemporary philosophical writers, until Swedenborg gets to a point where he underwent a profound spiritual crisis and turned his focus on an all together theological approach. .

1734 var Emanuel Swedenborg en hårt arbetande, rationalistisk vetenskapsman i tidens anda. Detta år utgav han ett av sina mest ambitiösa vetenskapliga och naturfilosofiska verk, Principia Rerum Naturalium. Han försökte här skapa en cosmologia generalis ? enallomfattande kosmologisk beskrivning från elementarpartiklarnas uppkomst och konstruktionupp till stjärnornas och planeternas formande. Denna uppsats utreder den ontologiska grundenför Swedenborgs naturfilosofi och lyfter fram tidigare ofta förbisedda aspekter, som hansspekulationer om multiversum.

The purpose of this study has been to analyze the image of Strindberg in today's upper secondary school. How is the author portrayed in the textbooks and teaching aids, and which parts of the authorship does the textbook and teaching aids authors choose to focus on?  This work has been implemented in the form of a textbook and teaching aids survey where eight textbooks for the upper secondary school from 1989 to 2008 has been analyzed with focus on the sections that consider Strindberg and his authorships.What emerges when studying these textbooks and teaching aids is that they give a rather synonymous picture of the man and the author Strindberg. Big focus is aimed on private life and the scandals that the author more or less voluntary became a part of. The majority of the textbooks treats matters as ?the misogynist? and ? the critic of society? and the so called Inferno crisis, and also when one discusses the literary works it is done in the light of the author's own life and accomplishments.When it comes to the author's literary production it is a very limited selection that is presented to the students.

In this thesis, the TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) encoding scheme is investigated as a system for storing metadata about manuscript material and 18th century first prints in the Swedenborg Archives at the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences. The aim of the study is to test the functionality of TEI as a metadata system in cataloguing a special collection. Some criteria of functionality are formulated, and examples of encoded catalogue entries are described and analysed. It is demonstrated how descriptive metadata have been registered within the TEI header, while structural metadata have been recorded within the text element of the TEI file. On the whole, TEI is considered to be a functional tool that matches the present purposes.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the distribution of medieval ballads as semiotics of intertextuality in modern Swedish literature, here represented by August Strindberg, Erik Axel Karlfeldt, Kerstin Ekman and Katarina Frostenson. They are famous authors from different epochs, ranging from the period called ?the modern breakthrough? in the 1880s until the postmodernism of the present time. My aim is to expose their attraction to medieval balladry, and their different ways of using form, language and style from this old poetry in poems, prose and plays, explicit as well as implicit..

This essay analyses the act of reading August Strindberg?s novel En dåres försvarstal (A Madman?s defence). It reveals the writer?s motif and purpose with the text and it shows how a certain interpretation of the text is crucial for the writer?s intentions to become reality. But it also shows how this interpretation is threaten by several, both intertextual and extratextual, thematically and structural, factors.

Huvudsyftet med vår uppsats är att undersöka vad Hjalmar Sundéns rollteori kan bidra med i förståelsen av August Strindbergs religiösa upplevelser och erfarenheter under infernokrisen i Paris 1894-1896 (97). Materialet utgörs av Strindbergs egna så kallade självbiografiska verk Inferno, Legender och Klostret samt litteratur om Strindbergs infernokris och hans liv inklusive hans korrespondens. Metoderna vi använder är textanalys av Strindbergs litterära verk och komparativa studier av Strindbergs verk och korrespondens. Dessutom görs textstudier av material skrivet om honom. Vi tillämpar Hjalmar Sundéns rollteori för att få förståelse för de erfarenheter och upplevelser som Strindberg behandlar i sina självbiografiska verk, dramer och brev.

Uppsatsen behandlar sex kurdiska killar som bor i Stockholm och deras beskrivningar kring omvärldens bild av deras kultur.Vår frågeställning lyder: hur förhåller sig kurdiska killar till bilden av kurder som finns i omvärlden? Genom att intervjua dessa sex personer individuellt och ha med en liten medieanalys försöker få en uppfattning om dessa kurdiska killars identitetskonstruktion.Resultatet som man kan ta del av är att dessa kurdiska killar ofta försvarar sin kultur och sitt ursprung samtidigt som de har börjat tänja på gränserna som finns kring deras kultur..
